Who U.C.C.S. Serves:

The purpose of Union County Counseling Service is to assist in the efforts of individuals residing in the county to improve the quality of their lives by providing services that support maximum independence and autonomy in decision making.  UCCS further strives to assist individuals in reaching full recovery from mental illness and to reside in the community setting of their choice.
 

Appointments:

No appointment is necessary to initiate service.

 

 

 

 

 

Fees:

For many services, we have a sliding scale that adjusts the fee based upon household income.  No one is denied services on the basis of inability to pay a fee.
 

 

 

 

Confidentiality:

Information and files are made available only as defined in the Mental Health Code and HIPAA.

 

 

 

 

 

Referrals:

If our services cannot meet specific needs, counselors will refer the client to the appropriate facilities for services.


 

 

 

 

Community Consultation and Education:

U.C.C.S. offers consultation to physicians, teachers and shelter care homes, as well as to other agencies.  Staff members are also available to make educational presentations on mental health issues for agencies, professionals and community groups.
